Sightseeing
This tour combines interesting and intriguing sightseeing. Steeped in history, both the Borders and Northumberland reflect the tension between the Scots and the English in days gone by. We will explore one of the famous fortifications from those turbulent times, along with the impressive Gardens at Alnwick. Add to this the stunning rolling scenery, high peaks, salmon fishing rivers and beautiful coastlines this area deserves exploring.

Agriculture
Our visits give an insight into different aspects of agriculture in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, highlighting both the challenges and rewards of farming in this stunning area.
Farming is mainly cattle, sheep and arable, with large rolling fields growing wheat, barley & oilseed rape, and beef cattle being more prevalent than dairy.
As always with our tours, there will be time given at each visit to ask questions and spend time with our hosts.
Our Hotel & Kelso
We stay in the historic Ednam House Hotel a former Georgian manor house dating back to the 1700’s, ideally located close to the cobbled square in Kelso and boasting beautiful views over the River Tweed.
Kelso lies on the confluence of the rivers Tweed and Teviot. Here you will find a spacious cobbled town square with a Bull Ring at its centre, a reminder of past market days. The ruins of Kelso Abbey founded in the 12th century is close to the entrance to the town square. Henry of Scotland is buried there as are several of the Dukes of Roxburghe.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
Having booked with slight trepidation about joining an organised tour, we are now absolute converts! I am sure you will be seeing us again, and soon!
Your organisation and attention to detail was First class -catering for each and every whim!
The hotels were excellent and you took us to places we would never have been able to visit on our own.
