Tour Managers

Worldwide Agricultural and Sightseeing Tours

Our Tour managers are all highly experienced, with backgrounds in travel and agriculture.

Great fun and down to earth, our guides work hard to make sure your holiday runs smoothly.

Often a guide will have run your tour before and be acquainted with your hosts, whether it's the American rancher preparing your Texan BBQ or the African ostrich farmer showing you his wares.

Born & bred: Holmfirth, Yorkshire

I come from an arable farm where we also processed milk on-site and my husband & I used to have a milk round. After taking a backseat in the business to allow the next generation to have a 'do' we travel a lot in our motorhome with our beloved dogs.

Like many Tour Managers, I started out with Bay Farm Tours as a client and loved the experiences so much I ended up joining the team, making my first tour to the Calgary Stampede, and looking forward to many more!

Born & bred: Quernmore, Lancashire

Born and raised on a dairy farm, just off the road to the Trough of Bowland. I have lived and farmed in the Lune Valley, between Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale, with my husband John ever since we married. Together we ran a milk processing dairy for the milk we produced on our farm and sold it locally to doorstep, catering and retail customers.

Our 2 sons are now involved in the business and it wasn’t long before we stopped milk processing, sold the milk round and started to buy Jersey cows. Now we run two herds of cows on the farm: Holstein and Jersey. We blend the milk, which is climate-smart, to make our original Brades Farm Barista Milk.  In 2017 they won the British Farming Award: Dairy Innovator of the Year.

Born & bred: Garstang, Lancashire

I was based in the Bay Farm Tours office for 5 years, but subsequently took a back seat to help more on the family farm and look after my granddaughter. With this came an opportunity to become a tour manager which I love and always look forward to meeting customers old and new for many adventures.

On our family farm, my husband and son milk around 180 Holstein Friesians, run 39 beef stores and lamb approximately 180 sheep, of which 40 are my son’s pedigree flock of Texel’s.

Born & bred: Lancaster, Lancashire

I took my first Bay Farm Tour to Vietnam in 2020 and prior to this have been leading groups of remote workers around the world across Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. I grew up on a dairy farm in Lancashire and have more recently moved back to get involved in the family business and deliver events and experiences that encourage people to come and explore nature and connect with one another over supper-clubs using delicious local produce. I also work in marketing for our sister company Bay Travel, which I definitely recommend checking out when booking your other holidays.

Neil

Born & bred: Lancashire

As well as a Tour Manager I am also the Managing Director of Bay Farm Tours.
I was brought up on a dairy farm on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border, both my parents came from a farming background, Dad from Argyl, Scotland & Mum from Lancashire, so farming is definitely in my blood.
I have travelled on every tour we have featured over the years, to checkout the hotels, travelling distances, visits etc. Often this is done with my wife Janet, enabling us to plan tours to Bay Farm Tours high standards. Travel always excites me and I look forward to introducing you to new destinations and experiences.

Born & bred: Devon, now living in North Yorkshire

I was born on a small dairy farm in South Devon, where we had Ayrshire cows. Prior to going to college, I worked on a large mixed farm in Northamptonshire. I attended Wye College in Kent in the early 70’s studying agriculture. On graduating I became Assistant Farm Manager on a large mixed farm in Kent. I was then fortunate to go on a twelve-month Student Exchange to Australia and Canada working on farms and travelling to some amazing places, including Thailand, the Philippines, Hawaii, Fiji and New Zealand.

The majority of my working life has been with ICI, in several roles still within the agricultural sector, initially working in Cornwall, Dorset and Essex, before moving to North Yorkshire. This is where I continue to live, close to the North York Moors. In addition to travelling with Bay Farm Tours I work with one of the Princes’ Trust schemes mentoring farmers. I also enjoy walking, cycling and gardening.

Born & bred: Wrea Green, Lancashire

I’m a recently retired dairy farmer from a Fylde village called Wrea Green. My youngest daughter and son in law have recently taken over the farm. My spare time is taken helping on the farm and enjoying our 3 grandsons. I also enjoy travelling to other countries, experiencing different cultures and scenery  and obviously all things farming related.

I joined Bay Farm Tours as a tour manager in 2019, and have travelled with them previously to Iceland, California and the Calgary Stampede. I have also travelled independently to China, Norway, Florida, Austria, Switzerland and Shetland.

Born & bred: North Yorkshire

I was brought up on a moorland sheep farm in North Yorkshire and went on to marry a farmer. We farm beef cattle, sheep and have some arable land. For many years I ran a farmhouse bed and breakfast in buildings we developed on the farm. In 2015 I decided I needed a change of direction and became a tour manager for Bay Farm Tours, having always enjoyed travelling. I have taken Bay Farm Tour groups to Germany, Italy, Switzerland and on river cruises on The Danube, to Holland and Belgium and on the Rhine & Mosel.
