More about your tour
The daily temperature in Limmasol is 17c to 22c. Evenings will be cooler and there is a possibility of rain. Pack some warm layers in with your summer wear.
Cyprus embraced the Euro in 2008 and before that they used the Cypriot pound.
Breakfast each morning
5 Evening Dinners
Omodos village, a traditional wine producing village where the hospitality is legendary. We take a walking tour of the village before visiting a bakery for demonstrations and tastings of local breads including shoushukos, a traditional sticky dessert made from grape juice. We also visit a local vineyard and taste their fruitful wines.
Our visits encompass a variety of agricultural enterprises & begin to understand the challenges of farming in this environment.
Cypriot farmers must contend with hot dry summers & limited water supplies, dependent on winter rains and irrigation.
Major crops in the region include grapes, deciduous fruits, potatoes, cereals, vegetables & olives. Preferred livestock tends to be sheep, goats, pigs & poultry. There is a small fishing industry and forestry is also prevalent in some areas.
