Small, mountainous and very wealthy, Switzerland is renowned for its enviable quality of life that ticks along like clockwork. It is a country enormously varied and contrasting in culture, language and scenery, with the three countries of France, Italy and Germany, which surround it, each having an historic influence on how the country has developed.
Magnificent mountain scenery and picture postcard scenes of pristine villages, houses and countryside, are some of the attractions of this beautiful country that never fails to impress visitors time and time again.
Weggis itself is known as the Riviera of Central Switzerland, a delightful lakeside village with a profusion of flowers, lakeside promenades, pavement cafes and spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Sightseeing
Switzerland is surrounded by the Alps and the Jura Mountains. The country is filled with beautiful hills, winding rivers and valleys. This really is the most glorious scenery you will find anywhere – just visualise the White Mountain peaks set against the clear blue skies and lush green pastures.
No tour to this country would be complete without a visit to Lake Lucerne, and this is where we will be based for the full duration of our tour.

Weather
Average day time temperature around 22°C to 11°C during the evening and overnight.
As there is very little pollution, when the sun shines it can increase the temperature significantly

Hotel
Our tour will be based in the one hotel for the whole duration, in Weggis, on the shores of beautiful Lake Lucerne, with magnificent views of the lake and mountains beyond.
The hotel has spacious and comfortable lounges, restaurant, bar and a south facing veranda. It also has a heated swimming pool and “wellness” centre to be enjoyed during relaxation time built into the itinerary.
Agriculture
With over 60% of the country covered in mountains and a quarter covered in forests, farming of cultivated land is intense. Cows graze in Alpine meadows as soon as the retreating snow line permits. Cheese making is an important part of the economy in Switzerland, with milk coming from goats as well as cows. Cheese is also the country’s largest agricultural export. One of the areas we visit for agricultural visits is the famous Simmental valley.

Once more Bay Farm Tours scored
10 out of 10
with the Lake Garda holiday. I enjoyed every minute. The friendship and atmosphere amongst the group was exceptional.
Your Tour Manager never stopped working to make sure everything went according to plan, and it did, along with lots of fun and laughter, which made it
a wonderful tour
