Sightseeing
The tour begins in the capital city Lima at the mouth of the Rimac river. It was once known as “The Pearl of the Pacific,” here we immediately see the Spanish influence with its many wooden balconies adorning the fronts of traditional manor houses.
Our itinerary includes a stay in The Sacred Valley and an overnight stay at Machu Picchu before continuing our ascent by train through spectacular scenery to Lake Titicaca the highest freshwater lake in the world.
We continue with a drive through the Colca Canyon with its snow capped volcanoes and dramatic landscape with steep agricultural terraces backed by towering mountains. Our last visit is to the Ballestas Islands in the Paracas National Park for viewings of sealions, pelicans, penguins and much, much more.
Agriculture
Agriculture in Peru is very varied and unique because of the physical features of the Andes and we take in visits which provide a broad overview of farming practices within the different regions we visit. Peru's climate and different geographical zones make it an important agricultural nation. Our visits will highlight the importance of irrigation throughout the country.
We will see examples of traditional farming methods as well as modern enterprises, with potatoes, sugarcane, coffee, cotton, garlic, onions and corn being some of the more important crops. We also incorporate visits taking in livestock farming as well as a visit to a Peruvian Paso horse demonstration.

I enjoyed every minute. The friendship and atmosphere amongst the group was exceptional.
Our tour manager never stopped working to make sure everything went according to plan, and it did, along with lots of fun and laughter, which made it a wonderful tour
