Farming is intrinsic to Devon. Today, agriculture and food production accounts for 13% of the county’s economy, compared to 7.6% nationally. Our visits give an insight into different aspects of agriculture in and around the county, with each visit encompassing the advantages and challenges of farming in these stunning areas.
More about your tour
Breakfast each morning
5 Evening dinners
The South West of England has an interesting maritime history. Ever since the days of Sir Francis Drake and the Spanish Armada, Plymouth has played a key role in Britain's naval history. From 1588, right up until the nuclear-powered submarines of the 21st century, the port has been at the heart of the nation's maritime defences and made a huge contribution to WWll.
We visit a sustainable fruit and vegetable operation on the typically steep undulating countryside of the region. Cider production is also an important part of the operation and we enjoy a sample of their produce.
With the rolling hills of the Devon countryside and the high hedges, that are a prominent feature of many country roads, just driving through this area by coach will give a very different perspective than when in a car, and will be an enlightening experience
Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
