The pear shaped island of Sri Lanka is a tropical paradise, situated in the Indian Ocean. South East of India, it boasts palm fringed beaches, abundant wildlife, lush tea plantations and so much more. It is identified as one of the planets bio diversity hotspots. The country has a very high level of species unique to the area; 23% of the flowering plants and 16% of the mammals can only be found in Sri Lanka
