India is a country of natural splendour, sacred celebrations, vibrant colours and great contrasts. Prepare to be amazed, charmed and overwhelmed in equal measure. Following our previous successful tours to India, this is a classic introduction taking in the renowned ‘Golden Triangle’ including Jaipur, Agra and the capital city of Delhi.
We spend time in the state of The Punjab, an area renowned for its fertile land and agricultural enterprises.
As we travel through cities and rural communities we discover some of the challenges facing this quickly developing nation and explore their traditions and agricultural practices.

Sightseeing
We visit the Sikh Golden Temple in Amritsar, situated in the rural state of The Punjab. In Delhi, there is so much to see. Imperial New Delhi with its impressive government buildings and tree lined avenues, contrasts greatly with Old Delhi which bears the evidence of former empires, British era mansions and the Red Fort. We also visit Jaipur in Rajasthan, home to the Amber Fort with its ornate architectural design. Agra in the state of Uttar Pradesh is home to the India’s most famous landmark – The Taj Mahal.

Agriculture
With varying soil, topography and climate throughout the areas we visit, the agricultural content of our tour is diverse and gives an insight into the agricultural practices of the northern part of the country. Visits include milk production, a potato farmer, citrus cultivation, village farms and a government district advisory service station, which is engaged in promoting modern techniques and technology to improve production, with minimal use of artificial fertilizers and pesticides.
Hotels
The accommodations we use throughout are 4 & 5 star properties, all with restaurants, most have swimming pools and other leisure facilities. Bedrooms are spacious with private bathrooms, TV and telephone.
The one exception to this is in Hoshiarpur, where we stay in beautiful tented lodges. These are permanently erected, with all the facilities of a modern hotel, including heating/air conditioning units, full en-suite bathroom facilities and are situated in the beautiful garden of this unique property, which will be for our exclusive use.
