Sightseeing
Lithuania and Latvia are full of ancient history, magnificent architecture and stunning landscapes. We visit a variety of sites that offer you an insight into both the past and present day ways of life. We take guided tours round Vilnius and Riga as well as a 14th century castle and some amazing Baroque architecture. Riga is also famous for its central market – a visit full of sights and sounds of local stall holders selling their local produce and wares.

Agriculture
In this part of the world, there are many practices that may come as a surprise, for example we visit an enterprise growing Hemp and we make a fascinating visit to a cricket farm, farmed mainly for human consumption (wow). We also visit Lithuania's first vertical farm pioneering technology driven agriculture with hydroponics and AI controlled environments.
Before the popularity of cotton, linen was the only fabric available in Lithuania and to this day, Lithuania is widely recognised for its high-quality linen products, clothes, bedding, kitchen accessories and toys.
Latvia has more than 50% of its territory taken up by dense forests, almost twice the world’s average, hence the forestry industry is very important to the export market.
Highlights
One of the highlights is a visit to Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, famous for its 14th-century island castle on Lake Galvė. The visit offers insights into Lithuania’s medieval history and the heritage of the Karaim community, a small ethnic group that has preserved its traditions for over 600 years. For lunch, the group will enjoy traditional Karaim cuisine, including the famous kibinai, flaky pastries filled with seasoned meat

I write to thank you for the wonderful tour to Canada, from which we recently returned. We both thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip and appreciate all your attention to detail. Each day was different and we continue to talk about our varied itinerary with an interesting balance of farm visits, cities and gardens.
We highly recommend Bay Farm Tours and look forward to travelling with you again.
